Market for

the Strange

Weird is Welcome

Market for the Strange was created to make space for the growing alternative art scene around Salem, Oregon. A place where the unusual is welcome, where the odd ones fit in, and where visitors can walk away with a little bit of the unexpected.

We host a monthly pop-up art market in western Oregon. We alternate event locations between Salem and surrounding cities.

Scam Prevention Tips

Scams targeting events like ours have been on the rise, with fake profiles pretending to offer event registrations or sell tickets in order to take money from our vendors and customers. Here are some details that will help you avoid scams.

The only place to register to be a vendor at our events is here on marketforthestrange.com. Event registration fees are paid through a secure checkout page with our branding, hosted by Stripe. The payment links are only sent from our official email account, after applications are reviewed. There is never a fee to submit an application.

The only placed to buy tickets to our event are at the linked page above (on eventcreate.com) or at the door. Be wary of comments on social media offering secondhand tickets, this is the most common scam we encounter.

The only email address we will use to contact you about the market is marketforthestrange(at)gmail.com. The MftS hosts are Kari (Fairy's Fancy), Ale (Manic Habit), and Yamen (Complicated Reality).

When in doubt, ask us first. We're happy to clarify any confusion via email or on our Discord.
